Love is in the Air with Jelissa

Hello wonderful readers! How was your month so far? Thanks for dropping by
the Green Tara blog today.  I've got a few altered items to share with you.

As we all know, February is the month of love and what better way to celebrate
love than a wonderful wedding! I created the following projects for a lovely
couple who are getting married using loads of Green Tara goodies.

"Ring Pillow"

The bride wants a rustic mint-green wedding and didn't like the original ring pillow
that came with the jewellery so I tore out the old stuff and replaced them with some
Gold Mesh ribbon, layered with Burlap and Glitter Organza Hearts ribbons.
I topped it up with a bow made from the Double-sided Vertical Stripe Satin ribbon
and a Wild Rose to finish off the ensemble.

"Flower Crown"

I made this flower crown from scratch and wove the flowers into the skeleton.
The Apple Blossoms were painted with water-colors and clustered together
with Mini Roses, Calla Lillies and bits of a snipped up Flower Spray. To secure
the crown on the head, I've added a Satin Leaf Garland ribbon.

Green Tara products used:

"Altered Bicycle and Mason Jars"

These are my personal favourites because I've such a soft spot for mason jars
 and quaint little bicycles.

For the jars, I first used a layer of Gold Mesh ribbon before layering them with
either the Natural Jute Ribbon or the Off-White Flower Lace. I misted the large
White Flower Lace with mint green spray and used it as a piece for the
Heirloom flowers, which I painted the centre using the same mint green spray.
I also used the Silk Flowers with Crystal and Mini Rose to highlight the jars.

I found this wire bicycle in a stationary shop and knew I had to alter it.
For the cluster, I layered the Natural Jute Ribbon, the Herringbone Ribbon,
White Flower and Off-White Flower Laces, Pearl Trim and the Satin Leaf Garland.

For this layout I have allowed the background effect to dictate the colour choice of the flowers. To create the cluster I have layered up a mixture of fabric flowers and mini roses and added cute satin bow.

For this layout I layered up the gorgeous mix of flowers (listed below in products used) and some 2Crafty chipboard. I have to admit I am a sucker for a good title and this one sums up my daughter to a tee.

I simple satin edged organza ribbon can work wonders in a flower cluster and is my “go to” ribbon for feminine layouts.

Grungy and Shabby...
By Sandrine Dawes

Hello hello Green Tara Fans!

You are with Sandrine today and it is time for my February reveal,
I have two layouts and one card to share today.

I will start with the grungy part, layout 1:

I love to experiment with colours and this month I had some fun with black!
My son just turned 8 and I wanted to create something funky! Funky and grungy
does not mean you can't use ribbon and flowers and here is the proof!
I made a circle frame around my photo using wire and
"Double Sided Vertical Stripe Sating Ribbon in black".

Here you can see "Teal 6.5cm Heirloom Flower"
"Turquoise 3.5cm Lace Pearl Flower":

Another "6.5 cm Heirloom Flower" and a "4cm Heirloom Flower" both in teal:

I am completely smitten with the "Skeleton Mesh", I am using on every single creation,
I don't lay it flat though, I just pull it and tear it, it gives tremendous texture, I LOVE IT!!!

More "Black Skeleton Mesh":

For my second layout, I have another grungy layout experimenting with more black,
it is all about traveling! My son has caught the Travel Bug just like his mum and dad!
There is a lot of journaling about it on the back.

"Travel Bug"

I chose Green Tara Blooms in black and blue, these include:
"7cm Wild Rose", "5cm Tutu Flower" and "Blue Apple Blossoms":

I altered my "Pale Blue Wild Rose" with Watercolour Paint to make it darker:

A tucked "6.5cm Heirloom Flower in black" and some black "Skeleton Mesh":

Some more "Skeleton Mesh" and "Apple Blossom":

My last project for this month is a card.

"Just for YOU"

Here is a closie of a "White Cherry Blossom":

And a gorgeous "8cm Velvet Rose in Dusky Pink":

That's it for me today! I hope you enjoyed my post, don't forget to check out
the blog regularly for updates from our fabulous Design Team!

Happy Scrapping!

All About My Girl - Layouts by Maria Featon

"Fairy Princess"

I'm obviously in a very bright and girly mood this month with penchant for pink
and teal! I had the idea for this first layout when I was creating an art journal
page inspired by the colours and patterns on Indian sari fabric. It seemed like
a good choice for these bright and happy photos of my daughter, Holly. The
organza and velvet layers on the blooms and butterfly, echo the fabric in her
costume. I attached two different white pieces of Lace Ribbon to either side
of my handmade pattered paper before adding my embellishments to the page.

For my flower cluster I began with a pretty Green and White Blossom Vine,
then added a mustard Damask Flower as the focal point. Also included are
a dusty pink Heirloom Flower and a white Apple Blossom (both enhanced
with Distress markers and water), and a few Velvet Leaves.

This beautiful Rainforest Butterfly has been sitting in my stash since
my DT package first arrived a few months ago, just waiting for the right
project. I think it's perfect for this layout. I'm not normally a very blingy
scrapper but I just love the extra bit of pizzazz it gives to this page.

"Love You As Big As The Sky"

This was a fun page to create around a much loved photo of Holly
and me taken on Mother's Day last year. Layered on the paper
strips below the photo you will notice some pretty Green Tara
Washi Tapes which are always a fun addition to projects. The
cream Lace Ribbon is also one of my favourites.

This cluster was based around a gorgeous dusty pink Poppy.
I love how delicate and feminine they are. I've also added a
pink Azalea and cream Tutu flower, with some gold Skeleton
Leaves tucked underneath.

"Little Girl, Big Personality"

In my third layout I tried to capture the sunny disposition of my
little girl. What better way to do that than with pretty flowers?
I've also run a length of white Polka Dot Organza Ribbon
across the top of the layout to add to the whimsical feel.

Again on this layout I've used a pink Heirloom flower teamed
with an Azalea (coloured with Distress marker). I like the
combination of textures of the satin and organza next to the
mulberry paper. A Cherry Blossom and Rose finish off
this little cluster, which has been echoed on the other
side of the page to create balance.

That's it from me for February. I hope your year is coming along nicely
and I look forward to retuning next month with some new creations to share.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Maria xx
