NEW Design Team Members &

Heather Jacob   Australia

Hi there, my name is HEATHER  JACOB.
Firstly I am so honoured, excited and thrilled to be chosen as one of the design team members with GREEN TARA. Heartfelt Thanks. Nature and gardening are a huge part of my life so it seems perfect for me to be able to play with these enchanting BLOOMS .
Now a little about me, I am blissfully married to my wonderful, supportive “soul mate” BADEN. My Family feature throughout my work and there is nothing more important to me than my family. Creating art is one of my many passions in life .. To me this craft is the perfect combination of art, photography, beautiful paper, and glorious words.
I especially love to choose some elements, cast a spell and see what happens, to create a dream and follow it through. Subtle shadows, light and color are all ingredients for casting the spell. I am in harmony with my garden and its inhabitants, connecting with the beauty that surrounds me. For me it is all-consuming, inspiring and a natural expression of my inner self, which I love to weave into my works.
I am inspired by colour and texture … I love to include stitching, chipboard, journaling, muslin, fabrics, metal elements, inking, masking and texture paste.
Off the page projects and altered art are a fave of mine. I see my style as “CLASSIC” with attention to detail…I tend to lean toward monochromatic themes with a little shabby chic/grunge thrown in..

Natasha Naranjo  USA

My name is Natasha & I’m the mother of two wonderful children & the wife of an amazing, supportive man. I am a floral designer by day and a scrapbook designer by night. I first discovered my love for scrapbooking in 2004 but was unable to scrap because I was a single mother at the time. For years I was unable to craft, but my passion for it never faded. I married my soulmate in 2010 and my husband inspired and encouraged me to start creating. If it weren’t for him, I would have never been able to begin doing what I love. As for my scrapping style... well, I don’t know how to categorize my style LOL. I just create using products I love. I love to incorporate different techniques in my work and use a variety of elements. Every day I am inspired by the work and talent of others, and I hope to be able to inspire others with my work as well!

Vicky Varvadouka  Greece

My name is Vicky Varvadouka, I am a happily married mum of two little girls (Nefeli 5 & Ioli 3) and I work in a big company in Greece . Scrapbooking is my passion and a way to express my self! I started making layouts in September 2010 and have been obsessed ever since. My kids are the main source of inspiration for my work and are the primary subjects of my layouts. I can't say I have a certain style because I don't limit myself to one style, I choose a photograph or paper line and adapt accordingly! I love to experiment and challenge myself with new techniques and textures! My work has been published in scrapbooking magazines and I have been a designer for several challenge blogs and on line shops! I like to share my work with others and hopefully inspire and encourage some people to try something new! I LOVE scrapbooking and I can't imagine myself without it! It has a piece of my heart!!!!
Thank you Green Tara for this amazing opportunity!!!

 Shona Keehn  Canada

My name is Shona Keehn and I am from British Columbia, Canada. I have 3 children and a wonderful husband of 26 years. He is very supportive with my scrapping addiction.

I have been scrapping for many years but have just found my scrappy style in the last couple of years. It is definitely something that I change up lots. I love to try new techniques and therefore one day I will be shabby and the next day more on the grungy side. One of my favourites is to work with a sketch. I love how so many artists can be so different from one sketch.

I am thrilled to be part of this amazing Design Team and I can not wait to start. I get so much inspiration from everyone in the scrapping world and I hope that you can get some from me.

Marie-Josee Hamel (MJ)   Canada
Hello all! My name is Marie-Josée Hamel. I am 37 years old and I live in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, with my significant other, Michael, and our daughter, Emily, who just turned 8. We share our house with a cat, a rabbit, a snail and two goldfish! :)
I discovered scrapbooking in April 2006 during a trip I took to Louisiana, USA, to visit friends of mine. Even if I have always been a crafty person, I had never heard of scrapbooking before then. When I saw my friend's scrap space, I was instantly in awe. I started asking tons of questions, and within 10 minutes, asked THE question: "But where do you buy all this stuff?" Less than two hours later, I was already shopping at Michael's (an American arts and crafts store) with my friend, and that is where I bought my first scrapbooking supplies. It has never stopped since then! :) Moreover, about a year ago, I started working nights, which means that I am home alone all day and now have lots of time to devote to creative projects, something I enjoy tremendously. Mostly, I create layouts, but I also design cards and altered projects. I am also interested in mixed media and have started including mixed media techniques in my projects a few months ago.
Color is always what sparks my creative process. I chose the colors I want to work with, then find a picture to match, which I know is very unusual! Most of my layouts have lots of white space and a shabby chic/vintage touch. I love to tear papers and layer them to give dimension to my projects. Flowers are and have always been my favorite embellishment, so you will see a lot of those on my layouts! :)
I am currently part of a few other design teams (magazine, store, inspiration blog and sketch blog) and have my own blog, Les créations de mariemily (http://lescreationsdemariemily.blogspot.com), which is a bilingual blog (French and English). Feel free to drop by and say hello!

We have four of our original team returning
& they are:

Mistra Hoolahan  Australia

Hi everyone!
I'm Mistra and I live in Perth, am married and we have

a teenage son  and luckily I have a niece I can borrow
for those girlie scrap fixes!  I have been scrapping
for over 10 years, and have seen so many changes...
I am loving where the industry is now, no rules
and lots of wonderful things to play with!
I work full time but I find time to create every weekend,

for me it's my relax time, I love it and my husband loves
 that I have this for myself {then I can't complain when he's
absorbed in some computer game LOL}.
I am really lucky to be on a few fabulously fun Australian

and International Design Teams - I adore it, it keeps me
motivated, challenged and keeps me growing.
I'm thrilled that I get to play with Green Tara for another term,

I love the quality and designs of all the flowers,
 laces and ribbons...
they always make embellishing my projects so easy!

Jan Rankine  Australia

Hello everyone - my name is Jan Rankine.
I live on the Central Coast of New South Wales in Australia
with my daughter and grandson and a Chihuahua who thinks
she is a Great Dane.
I also have two sons and another two grandchildren.
I love scrapbooking and I teach classes as well as being one half
of the Design Team at Di's Scrapbook Shop at The Entrance.
I've dabbled in lots of craft over the years - but I really love
scrapbooking  & card making.
Off The Page projects fascinate me as well.
I absolutely love Green Tara products and I’m so happy
to be back as part of the fabulous new Design Team.
If you would like to see more of my work,
pop over to my blog Janscreativespace.blogspot.com

Linda Thompson  Australia

My name is Linda and I'm 39, I'm married to my soul mate Mark and we have 8 children, and our first grandchild due at the end of the month.
I live in Campbelltown area of NSW and am a stay at home mum.
I have been scrapping for almost 8 years now, I was introduced into it by a friend as a means to take my mind of a very premie baby who spent 9 weeks in hospital. In those 8yrs I have had my own store for 4yrs www.scrappersgarden.com.au and been on a couple of Design Teams.
My blog is http://6diamonds1sapphire.blogspot.com.au/ I have been a little bit slack of late updating it but there are a few albums at the bottom you can see more of my past work. I have been re-doing my scrap room these past few months so a lot of things have been packed away limiting my current extra scrapping, but I'm all unpacked now finally.
My style, well I'm not really sure what it is right now, I am currently trying a lot of new mixed media products on my pages as well as exploring more OTP items. With 7 girls I love all flowers and glimmer mist has to be my fav product. I like to use papers as my embellishments as mush as I can, this not only creates the perfect matching embellishment but can also be a money saver when budget is tight. I don't scrap albums from start to finish I just scrap what ever photo catches my eye.

 Di Garling  Australia
DT Co Ordinator

Hi there, my name is Di Garling & I live on the
sunny Central Coast of NSW in Australia.
I absolutely love Scrapbooking & Card Making
so much that I started my own
Scrapbook Shop going on for seven years ago.
It is called “Di’s Scrapbook Shop”.
Not very original!!
 http://just-fabulicious.blogspot.com.au/
I am married with two grown up sons
& a very spoilt  little fat dog called Poppy.
I joined Green Tara about 18 months ago
as their Design Team Co Ordinator &
have been with them ever since.
I am very fortunate to have been able
to work with such beautiful products.
I am so happy to be back for yet
another term with this amazing Company
& with these hugely talented ladies.
I can’t wait to get started.
As for my style, I love colour & texture.
I would say I lean towards Shabby Chic
but with a little Grunge thrown in
& I don’t subscribe to the theory
 that less is best.

Well that is my story.
Until next time
Cheers Di  xo

"Beautiful" Layout and a
Gorgeous Trinket Box
by Guest Designer Kim Price

I am really happy to be sharing a couple of Green Tara projects
with you today, thank you so much for dropping
 in to take a peek!

My first project features some adorable Green Tara paper roses
and a large fluffy bow made using some of the
 new Green Tara tulle.
I just ADORE this product so much and can see myself
using it in many ways on many different projects.

In this closer photograph you can see that I have a few layers
on my bow for some added texture and interest,
topping the whole thing off with a trio of gorgeous paper roses.
I just love this layered look and can see this style
bow being used in all kinds of places!
 Wedding pictures anyone?

And from this angle you can see the lace detail and a splash
of the sweet gathered ivory and white ribbon peeking out
from beneath my bow. It's all so beautiful and feminine
 and works together so well.

Lastly this photograph highlights the white maple leaf
and tiny paper rose and bud cluster I've added
to the top right corner of my photograph.
 The perfect finishing touch.

3cm Roses - White FDR4024Wh

For my second project I chose to make a gorgeously girly
trinket box to show off those amazingly beautiful
little paper roses from Green Tara that I love so much!

I started out by recycling a tin and lid using gesso,
paint and inks to create that vintage shabby look.
I then added some lace and a ring of purple flower spray
which I bent into a circle shape to fit the top of my lid.
Next I began adding a variety of gorgeous paper roses
in all different sizes and colours to coordinate my project
and to cradle a sweet little birds nest for top and centre.

This is such a pretty project and I enjoyed every minute
creating it and watching it all come to life!

I have twisted the flower stems to create little touches
of green vine all around the garland circle.
This simple but effective technique really adds
 so much to a project.

And lastly I have added a Green Tara butterfly
for that finishing touch.
Don't you just love those sequins?

Some Boxes & Gift Tags
By Vicky Alberto

"With simply paper and a little creativity  ANYONE can paper-craft"
Hello everyone, Vicky back again today.
Just another quick share.
I created these pretty little Kirigami Boxes and Cards
using a 12x12 paper.

As you can see I have embellished them with lots of lovely
Green Tara flowers.
Firstly the pink set.

Here is a close-up of of one of the gift sets that I
played up the peach and cream.

The great thing about kirigami boxes is that they are just
 as pretty  on the inside.
Since they are folded, it means they are sturdy too,
 due to several paper layers.
My tutorial on how to create these boxes
can be found archived on this blog HERE.
These boxes are about 4 inches square once you
fold down 12x12 paper (but can be made smaller).

Thanks for calling by.

Vintage Display Layout
By Vicky Alberto

Today I am sharing a Vintage Display Layout I made.
As you can see I have used a lot of Green Tara blooms.
Pink Apple Blossoms & Roses(Some of my favourites)
The pictures are a Pion Design Vintage Image Sheet.

Here is a close-up of the gorgeous flowers,
homemade chipboard (primed, chalked and stamped).
This is my new display piece on my fireplace mantle
 that I change every season.

Another close-up of the birdcage with Green Tara
twisted organza pearl trim (I really adore this trim!).

Thanks for joining me on the blog today!

Two Totally Different Layouts
Using the One Product
By Di Garling

"Timeless Beauty"

Turn this fantastic NEW "Wire Cord" from Green Tara into this.
Above is the AFTER.
Below is the BEFORE.
This is my new Favourite product.

This NEW "Wire Cord" from Green Tara comes in six colours
& the best part about it, it is really well priced.
I have used the Light Brown here to make my wreath.
It is fantastic & because it has wire in the middle it stays put.
You can bend it & twist it however you like & it just stays there.
It is quite soft too so it doesn't hurt your fingers.
Jasmine Shea did a similar thing with a single
strand of wire in a magazine last month,
so I think wreaths must definitely be fashionable at the moment.

All I did to make this wreath was to wrap it around a bowl to
get a nice circle. Then I cut shorter  lengths
& twisted them around an Awl or
you could use a skewer if you don't have an awl.
Next up I just wound & twisted these shorter
curled pieces through the wreath to make it look realistic.

Next up I wired some Green Tara Roses in two sizes,
onto the wreath.
Lastly I finished off with a little Gesso here & there.
Hey presto. All finished.
From start to finish, it took me about twenty minutes to
make this wreath & I think it looks quite realistic.
All the chipboard I have used on these two layouts is from
 2 Crafty Chipboard of course.

Next up on my layout I have used one the
gorgeous Green Tara laces.
They have so many to choose from we are spoilt for choice.
This one started life white & I coloured it up to match my layout
with a Tim Holtz Distress Stain. Wow that stuff is good
& this lace accepted the colour so easily with just one application.
On top of the lace I have used this lovely Pearl Trim which is
also another Green Tara product.
People think Green Tara only sell flowers, but they have
hundreds & hundreds of beautiful laces, ribbons & trims.

Lastly I finished of with a flower cluster & the jewel in the crown
is definitely this beautiful "Heirloom" fabric flower in pink.

100% Boy

Well this time I decided to do a boy layout & I have still used
the same "Wire Cord" but instead of twisting it like in the previous one
I have just wrapped it again, around a bowl, & left it smooth.
I think it works equally as well.
I really think this product has great potential. It would be great
for making your own embellishments with.

On my page I have used another great Green Tara ribbon.
This one is called "Herringbone" ribbon & comes in
six fabulous colours.
I think it is very dramatic.

I really wanted this page to be a total contrast to the first one.
Although it is the same "Wired Cord" & the design of both pages
is almost the same, using the product in different ways they
really are completely different.

Thanks for calling by today & I hope I have inspired you to have
a play with this wonderful NEW product.

While you are here, don't forget to be a "FOLLOWER" on our blog
(Up the top on the left hand side)
Also
Make sure you pop over & visit us on Facebook too.
We update it nearly every day.
That way you won't miss anything.

By Vicky Alberto

I finally had a chance to play with the beautiful Pion Design Silent Night collection.
Oh wow are these papers dreamy! I did this layout style Christmas display.
I haven't decided yet if I am keeping it or gifting it to someone.
All of the flowers, lace and sprays are Green Tara and the chipboard is Dusty Attic.

Here is a close-up view of the Green Tara goodness:
